Aasif Mandvi Screenwriter, tandoori blue eyes Aasif
Mandvi won the 1999 Obie Award with director Kim Hughes for his solo
performance Sakina's Restaurant, which he and Kim Hughes also wrote, and
which played at The American Place Theatre for six months. The show also
played in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Pittsburgh. Aasif will open
Sakina's Restaurant next month at London's Bush Theatre. His acting credits
include the recent Merchant Ivory film Mystic Masseur, as well as Analyze
This, The Siege, Die Hard 3, At the End of the Day, ABCD, American Chai,
Three AM, and The Random Hearts. On TV he has been seen on Sex and the City,
Law and Order, Nosh Bridges, Welcome to NY, as well as a recurring role on
