After the highly successful Erasing Borders Festival of Dance in the Spring (previously advertised on this site), the Indo American Arts Council (IAAC) led by Aroon Shivdasani return with their downtown New York festival.
Staged in Battery Park, the festival received high praised last year from the New York Times’ Alaistair Macaulay when he announced that it was “the best new arrival on this city’s dance scene in the last two years.” (read review)
This year promises to be just as visually engaging with the following artists performing at Chase Plaza in Lower Manhattan:
- Shobha Korambil (Kuchipudi) – Natesha Kautvam
- Trinayan Dance Theater + Leena Mohanty (Odissi) – Govinda Damodara Stotram
- Guru Radha Mohanan & Troupe – Kiratham
Korambil could be seen earlier this year performing in the annual Natyanjali festival which takes place in Tamil Nadu.
If you are passing through New York City you are highly urged to catch a glimpse of the festival. |
