Synopsis: Samoan-born, Kiwi director Sima Urale, working with a screenplay by Shuchi Kothari (Firaaq) and Dianne Taylor, cooks up an appealing multicultural Kiwi dish set in Auckland. Anita hosts a popular TV cooking show verging on exploiting her East Indian ethnicity and culture that she has distanced herself from. Her estranged sister, Tara, runs their parents’ no-frills neighborhood Indian take-out. Lorna supports her family through her old fashioned cake-shop. Then one day, Anita’s grown up son arrives from London, and Tara unknowingly hires him to work in her curry shop. With Laila Rouass, Scott Wills, Jennifer Ludlam, Nathan Whitaker, Leela Patel.
