Synopsis: It was with Zanjeer that Amitabh Bachchan brought to the screen his brooding and explosive "angry young man” persona created by the scriptwriting team of Salim-Javed. Bachchan plays Vijay, a police inspector haunted by the memory of the murder of his parents by a man wearing a chain (zanjeer). But his search for Teja leads him to a man who has become a respectable citizen. The film that transformed Bachchan into a superstar, Prakash Mehra’s blockbuster also became a turning point in the history of Hindi cinema. Also with Jaya Bhaduri, Ajit, Om Prakash and Pran.
