Synopsis: Rama, the handsome prince of Ayodhya, is in exile with the beautiful Sita and with his valiant brother Laxman. One day Sita is kidnapped by the mighty Ravan, the demon king. Rama and Laxman begin their search for Sita with the help of the monkey-god Hanuman. The Ramayana, the most beloved of all Indian stories, gets its first 3D computer animated retelling in this production from Ketan Mehta.

Director Chetan Desai: Chetan Desai, the creative studio head at Maya Digital Media, has worked on over 300 commercials, including Reebok, Pepsi, and Coke, and produced over 2000 minutes of 3D animation for the entertainment industry. His work as Animation and Visual Effects Supervisor and Director has been awarded in various forums including BAFTA, GDC, Seagate and Screen Awards. His international animation 3D projects include Jack Frost, Golden Eye Rogue Agent, Neopets (Sony Play station – game cinematics), Disney Princesses (Disney Interactive - game cinematics), Soldier of Fortune (Activision - game cinematics), Cosmic Quantum Ray, Tronji, Da Jammies and many more. Aside from the numerous international projects Chetan took time out to devote 3 years of his life to create Ramayana: The Epic.
