Konkona Sen Sharma shone at the 17th annual New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) this year, winning two awards. The event took place from April 30 to May 7 and was presented by Indo-American Arts Council.
She was credited for her outstanding performance in the movie Lipstick Under My Burkha , which revolves around women's sexuality and, for her excellent directorial debut with Death In The Gunj, a thriller that features stars Kalki Koechin, Jim Sarbh, Tanuja, Vikrant Massey as well as the recently deceased Om Puri.
Apart from this,Shubhashish was honoured with the award for the Best Film while K Kaladharan was awarded Best Actor for Malayalam film Ottayaal Paatha (A Narrow Path) and Best Screenplay was awarded to Kammatipaddam. An Insignificant Man won best documentary and Onir's film Aaba received Best Short Film.
