SYNOPSIS:
Kishan Singh. a retired teacher from India, comes out to the
US to visit his son Raj. Raj's American-bom wife Laura used
to write poetry but 'Life gets in the way of art'. Kishan's
presence and the problems raised from gender and cultural
expectations cause tension. When Kishan decides to stay indefinitely,
conflict erupts. A series of poignant episodes help Laura
appreciate Kishan's zest for life and at the same time enable
Raj and Laura to examine their lives in a new light. |

Producer of Tony Buba's "No Pets" and Executive Producer for
"Dog Eat Dog" His extensive acting experience on stage was
brought to screen with the Walt Disney Film "Money for Nothing". |

CAST:
Roshan Seth is known to audiences worldwide for his work in over
30 films. Among these are Richard Attenborough's "Gandhi", Steven
Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and me Temple of Doom." David Lean's
"A Passage to India," Stephen Frears' "My Beautiful Laundrette"
and most recently, Martin Campbells. "Vertical Limit." Saeed Jaffrey
has done extensive theater and film work in India. the U.S and
U.K. His credits include: Ray's "The Chessplayers". "My Beautiful
Launderette", "Gandhi", "A Passage to India", "The Man who would
be King" and "The Wilby Conspiracy". Carrie Preston lias performed
on Broadway, her role as Miranda in "The Tempest" getting her
the spotlight in New York Times' 'Up and Coming' section. Before
"The Journey", she worked on "My Best Friends Wedding". Betsy
Zajko lives in Cleveland. Ohio. Her film credits include "Money
for Nothing" and
"Striking Distance".
