Ultimate girl-next-door: Freida Pinto promotes film in cutesy frocks (although only a celebrity changes three times)

Freida Pinto proved that being a globetrotting star doesn't equate to abandoning her girl-next-door wardrobe.

Instead, the pretty actress was seen in three varying outfits today, all of which looked cute and sassy - but most importantly, affordable and not encrusted with bling.

The Slumdog Millionaire beauty was earlier spotted at the Rockefeller Center in New York City to film an episode of the Today show.

The 27-year-old is currently promoting Trishna, a British drama directed by Michael Winterbottom - the man who gave us 24 Hour Party People, set against the backdrop of the Madchester era.

Based on Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of the D'Urbervilles, the film follows a woman whose life is destroyed by love after she meets a wealthy British businessman who has come to India to work.

Arriving at the Big Apple studios, Freida opted for a summery canary yellow dress that looked more high street than designer.

Her ability to accessorise was second to none as the BAFTA-nominee rocked a pair of large shades, pink suede shoes and a multi-coloured faux snakeskin bag, complete with slicked back hair.

She then emerged wearing a fitted purple dress, detailed with large flowers against a black background.

Last night, Freida attended the premiere of her new film in Manhattan, which was followed this evening by a special screening.

Stylish yet simple: Freida opted for a purple sleeveless dress as she left Access Hollywood Live

Changing styles for the event, Freida styled her hair in a low slung plait over her left shoulder and chose a red striped knee-length dress.

One person that was missing though was boyfriend Dev Patel, meaning Pinto flew solo at the special advance and post-discussion screening, hosted by the Indo-American Arts Council on the Upper East Side.
