Bio

Raghava KK, named by CNN as one of the ten most fascinating people the world is yet to know of, is a multi-disciplinary artist, working in genres as disparate as painting, film, installation, multimedia, performance, and his own wedding.
He began as a cartoonist in 1997. His recent work conceptually grapples with the construct of identity, gender and sexuality, as seen in his recent exhibitions at the Carre d'Art Contemporary Art Museum (Nimes, France),  Art Musings (Mumbai), Giacobetti-Paul Gallery (New York) and Skotia Gallery (Santa Fe, New Mexico). He brings his ideas to a wider audience in the form of lecture series that he delivers at art spaces, including the Winkleman Gallery, New York and at universities and art institutes, including New York University (New York, NY), Carnegie Mellon University, Ecole Des Beaux-Arts (Nimes, France) and New Hampshire Institute of Art (Manchester, NH).

In February 2010, Raghava spoke at the TED 2010 Conference in Long Beach, CA along with director James Cameron, musician Sheryl Crow, playwright Eve Ensler,  Bill Gates, and mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot [http://www.ted.com/talks/raghava_kk_five_lives_of_an_artist.html].
His public art installations include a library for the Robin Hood Foundation in the Bronx, NY.

He will presently be mentor/artist in residence at both MIT and International School of Business (Hyderabad, India).

He lives and works both in Brooklyn, NY and Bangalore, India.
