AASIF MANDVI
AASIF MANDVI Born in Mumbai in 1966, Aasif is an Indian-American actor and comedian. Raised both in Britain and America, Mandvi is currently a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. In addition to being a leading South-Asian funny man in the industry, he is also an accomplished dramatic actor. He recently played the lead role of a Pakistani-American lawyer in the play Disgraced, Which earlier this year won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. He returns to comedy appearing with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in this summers hit The Internship.

He is the recipient of the OBIE award for his critically acclaimed one-man show Sakina’s Restaurant. Mandvi has had several roles including appearing on television series like Miami Vice, ER, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, The Bedford Diaries etc. as well as appearing in minor roles on the big screen in films such as Die Hard with a Vengeance, American Chai, Spider-Man 2, Music and Lyrics and The Proposal etc. to name a few. In 2012 Mandvi starred in Disgraced at The Clare Tow Theater at Lincoln Center. He played the lead role of Amir, a Pakistani American lawyer struggling with his identity in Islam in the drama by Ayad Akhtar. The play went on to win the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
