Colorful moments from IAAC’s 15th Anniversary Gala

New York: Indo-American Arts council celebrated its 15th anniversary on November 21st at a beautiful venue ‘Angel Orensanz Foundation for Contemporary Art’ in New York City.

The Indo-American Arts Council is a registered 501 (c) 3 not for profit, secular service and resource arts organization charged with the mission of promoting and building the awareness, creation, production, exhibition, publication and performance of Indian and cross-cultural art forms In North America.

On this auspicious occasion the hall at Angel Orensanz Foundation for Contemporary Art was filled with celebrities and other influential people in and around New York City, neighboring states and far beyond.

The event was started at 6.30 Pm with Red Carpet and Cocktail Party and followed by a slide show of 15 years of IAAC.

International Stand up Comedian Dan Nainan (www.danielnainan.com) was the EMCEE of this event.

Aroon Shivdasani, Artistic Director of IAAC welcomed the guests and the Honorees Salman Rushdie (Author), Mira Nair ( Filmmaker) and Dr.Manjula Bansal ( Doctor, Art Lover and Humanitarian ).

Jonathan Hollander, Co-founder of IAAC and an outstanding choreographer, introduced Honoree Dr. Manjula to the guests. Then the Award was given to Dr.Manjula Bansal.

Then it was the turn for Paul Williams, one of the the most beloved and respected music creators in the world today. He performed some of his songs accompanied by Kenny Ascher on the piano.

Sabrina Dhawan, Screenwriter (Monsoon Wedding ), introduced Honoree Mira Nair to the guests. Then the award was presented to filmmaker Mira Nair.

Madhur Jaffrey, an award winning actress and best selling cookery author, introduced Honoree Salman Rushdie to the guests. Then the award was presented to Salman Rushdie.

Then there was the screening of Manish Arora’s Holy Holi and followed by the performance by www.exclusively.in, a definitive international destination for Indian-inspired luxury and lifestyle products, presents a colorful Fashion Show featuring designs by Manish Arora.
