Designer Manish Arora Nov. 21 presented a catwalk collection, in partnership with online Indian fashion retailer Exclusively.in, to celebrate the launch of his online store, ManishArora.com.
The collection, titled “INDIAN,” was showcased at the Indo-American Arts Council’s 15th Anniversary Gala in New York.
The event also saw the premiere of Arora’s “Holi Holy” film, which celebrates widows from Varanasi, the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and Jainism, through Holi color and a vivid, eye-catching collection.
Speaking about the important milestone, Arora said, “It feels great to debut my ‘INDIAN’ collection in New York City as we launch my website. New York is such a fun, hip and fast city.
“With the launch of my very own website, clients can now buy my latest collections and collaborations from anywhere. This partnership with Exclusively.in pushes us right to the top of the online, mobile and social media world.”
Arora’s clothes, including his latest collection, are characterized by a riche palette of psychedelic colors and kitsch motifs with traditional Indian crafts like embroidery, appliqué and beading, combined with Western silhouettes.
