Gupta's film chosen for Indo American Fest

MUMBAI: Sanjay Gupta's White Feather Arthouse Films' first film, The Great Indian Butterfly, has been selected at the closing day of the Indo-America Arts Council Film Festival held in New York form the 7 - 11 November.

White Feather Arthouse Films was initiated to by Gupta to promote independent cinema with daring content and to give voice and platform for young filmmakers exploring new vistas.

Gupta says, "I am very happy that the Great Indian Butterfly has been chosen at IAAC Film festival. White feather Arthouse Films was launched as we wanted to make path-breaking films that would cater to a niche audience looking for intelligent cinema and we were also looking at the international festival circuit and with the our first project the Great Indian Butterfly we have managed to do just that".

Directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, The Great Indian Butterfly features Aamir Bashir, Sandhya Mridul, Koel Purie and Barry John. The film deals with inquiries into simple truths and meanings of human existence. Unable to come to terms with the sacrifices required for success, a young urban couple takes a trip in search of a mystical butterfly which if found, brings peace, love, luck and happiness
