| Fareen Butt is an artist that currently resides in New York. She teaches Art at the AP high school level, working with a challenging population the the Bronx. She has received a BA from The Newschool University, and continues to participate in the summer Drawing Marathons held at the New York Studio School in Manhattan. She will begin her MFA with Goddard University in the fall of 2006. This artist has always used her creative talents as an expression of the lifelong journey of a seeker. Fareen's work has a spiritual, anthropological, and philosophical leaning. She is a dervish of the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Sufi Order, studying directly with Sheikha Fariha Al-Jerrahi.
