Gazala

Gazala was born and educated in Bombay India. She was a super model and the face of Bombay Dyeing, even while she walked the catwalk in over 500 fashion shows representing Indian mills in India and overseas. She moved with her husband and 2 daughters to New York City 25 years ago, where she studied at the The School of Visual Art and Parsons School of Design. With an inherent natural talent, Gazala has always loved to draw and paint and through the years created works which she sold privately. Gazala simultaneously kept a diversified career going starting in the high fashion industry on 7th Avenue, then on to the hospitality industry, and later the banking industry. Today, Gazala's focus has turned full time to her first passion, art. Gazala has trained and studied the 20th Century Western Impressionist and Contemporary Masters. Today she uses the style she has studied to create her own original works in oils on canvas. Her very first one woman exhibition and launch in May 2006 was well attended and many of her works sold the first night. Her artworks included Figurative Abstracts, Landscapes and a Reminiscing India series. With a major auction house interested in Gazala's works, she is following a strategic plan to do a series of her exhibitions in various major cities around the world before her works go on the auction block. Gazala has several exhibitions in the pipeline and has just finalized the first two. She has tied up with the well established gallery of 22 years Lucy B. Campbell on Kensington Church street in London, who will formally launch Gazala with an exhibition on April 17th, 2007. Gazala has also tied up with the renowned Crimson Gallery in Bangalore India, who will formally launch her in October, 2007.
