 This body of work explores the connection between our senses; specifically, the link between sound and our perception of color. Directly inspired by the melodic movement of Raga, each painting originates from listening repeatedly to a specific raga throughout the creative process. Raga has often been defined as a tonal framework for composition and improvisation. More importantly, it must evoke a particular emotion. This series is a contemporary visual response, as well as an homage to this ancient art form. |
