Those of you who read The Ajnabee on a regular basis know that I am bound to gush when I mention anything which the fabulous Aroon Shivdasani and the Indo-American Arts Council have come up with. Their Mahindra-IAAC Film Festivals fill my falls in the City, while their book launches turn my summers cool, right before they spice up nights on the NY stage with their yearly dance festival… But now they are venturing into that other known passion of mine - FASHION - and I predict this will be one unforgettable spring event, simply not to be missed!

On April 15th, the IAAC will join forces with retailer Misha Nicole to present the super-glamourous, exclusive Global Runway’s Night Out, only to follow the fabulous event with a Misha Nicole Pop-Up shop on the 16th of April, featuring collections by up and coming Indo-chic designers, as well as some tried and true ones. If you are not yet familiar with the name, look out Soho this coming fall, for the soon-to-open Misha Nicole will be THE place to shop for fashionistas, cool Indo-chicks and those on-the-fashion-edge New Yorkers!

Global Runway’s Night Out, as well as the much-anticipated post-show sale, will all take place at the Paramount Hotel on West 46th Street. Very luxuriously cool, we’re talking Ian Schrager after all!!

Instead of boring you with details, I’ll mention a few important names who will be showing at GRNO: Padma Lakshmi, Naeem Khan, Ports 1961, Payal Singhal, Sachin + Babi, Shekhar Rahate, Amrita Singh and White + Warren among many, many more. Imagine glamourous jewelry, with spectacular gowns, phenomenal fashions and ethnic chic all coming together to “Shut it down”, as queen fashionista Rachel Zoe would say.
