Holiday Pop-Up Charity Market Being Held in Stonehenge Storefront Space |
Partnership with J. Luce Foundation Part of Real Estate Company's Unique Sharing and Caring Program ; |
|
New York, NY – Known for its sense of community and innovative programming within their 27 properties throughout Manhattan, Stonehenge Partners is giving back this holiday season and encouraging their tenants to do the same by making space available in its building on 1143 Second Ave. between 60th and 61st Sts for a positive initiative with the James Jay Dudley Luce Foundation (J. Luce Foundation), an organization that supports non-profit efforts to improve humanity and positive social change. Through the Foundation's Labor@tory program, over 24 non-profit partners, including education, arts and cultural organizations, will have the opportunity to promote their worthy causes. Stonehenge has enabled the J. Luce Foundation use of this convenient, temporary pop-up storefront space for the "Stonehenge Give Unto Others Nonprofit Holiday Pop-Up Collaboration Market" which will be open December 12, 2012 - January 13, 2013 from 8:00am- 9:00pm.
"There are so many wonderful organizations that Stonehenge wanted to support as part of its 'Sharing & Caring Program,' and partnering with the J. Luce Foundation allows us to allocate our resources to a multitude of groups working to make our world a better place," said Jonathan Fishman, Director of Business Development at Stonehenge. "Whether it's a passerby or one of our 6,000 plus tenants, we hope everyone will take a minute to learn about the various causes that the J. Luce Foundation supports and consider an in-kind donation."
The charities will be promoting their activities and programs, as well as selling a variety of goods and services in the Stonehenge space on Second Avenue on a rotating basis, with up to ten different organizations to occupy the space at one time. Included within the space is a sizeable area for programming and exhibitions. The space will be made available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. with a minimum of three different time slots per day (morning, afternoon, evening).
Labor@tory charitable partners include: Alphabet Kids, Arts & Earth New York, Arts Students League of New York, Cambodian Living Arts, Career Bridges, Child School/Legacy High School, David Lynch Foundation, Fountain House, God's Love We Deliver, Haitian Cultural Foundation, ICAMI Global Stress Initiative, Indo-American Arts Council, International Council for Caring Communities, International University Center Haiti, Melvin Van Peebles Foundation, National Arts Club, Neighborhood Housing Services of N.Y.C., Orphaned Starfish Foundation, Orphans International Worldwide, Osborne Association, Roosevelt Island Visual Art Association, Rubin Museum of Art, United Nations University, Year Up - New York, and Young Concert Artists.
