Alka Bhargava

Alka Bhargava is a poet and technologist who works and lives in New York City. She received an MFA in Fiction writing from Columbia university's School of the Arts in 1999, but at present she primarily writes in verse. Alka is an ardent student of music and of life, and is currently studying Hindustani vocal music with Smt. Shubhra Guha at the Ahiri Institute of Indian Classical Music. Alka and Tenzin became friends when they met as co-collaborators in the performance group Kalikut Root - they first performed as the duo "T&A" last summer at a Cosmic Joke Collective event at the Knitting Factory.
