Anand Prashad

Anand Prashad is a talented, aspiring tabla player. Anand is a 16yr. old junior at Brooklyn Technical highschool, one of the most elite highschools in the city. Apart from taking his education seriously Anand also takes great pride in his music. He has been under the tutelage of Pandit Samir Chatterjee, a world renowned tabla player. Anand has been studying with him for 4 1/2 years and has been given "guru-diksha" from his guru. "Guru Diksha" is a guru-disciple bond in which the disciple receives a blessed
thread that must be worn at all performances. Anand's future looks promising because he aspires to become a well-known tabla player and a successful engineer.
