THE FILMS OF SATYAJIT RAY commemorating the renowned Indian film director and Academy Award winner (Lifetime Achievement) Satyajit Ray, known for his humanistic approach to cinema. The film series will debut newly restored films for Mr. Ray, which have been generously restored at the the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Archives (AMPASA) in Beverly Hills, CA initiated through the efforts of the Satyajit Ray Film and Study Collection at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The film series will feature a lecture/presentation by noted Ray scholar and authority, Professor Dilip K. Basu.
