MISHA NICOLE is pleased to announce the first artist to be selected for INFUSION, painter Md Tokon. Md Tokon has studied and worked in New York City since 2001 and has earned a strong reputation. His works are inspired by color, nature and personal experience. The show runs from Wednesday, May 2nd to Monday, June 20th. An opening reception will be held at MISHA NICOLE on Wednesday, May 11 from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm.

About Md Tokon:
Our first featured artist Md Tokon is inspired by color and the cities in which he grew up. He realized his dream with the encouragement of his family, finishing his first painting at age 11. As a teenager, he began to pursue a career as an artist. His works are abstract with a touch of impressionism, focusing on dreams, emotions, and the human spirit. His paintings are also marked by their lively color hues and soulful textures. Tokon’s most noted artistic influences are late Monet, Philip Guston, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, Gerhard Richter, Joan Mitchell, and Cy Twombly. Art Students League of New York instructor Ronnie Landfield recognized Md Tokon as “a dedicated, talented, and hard working painter.”

Md Tokon obtained his B.A. Art & Communication Design at The City University of New York, B.F.A. Drawing and Painting, The Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University. With the help of his mentors and instructors Ronnie Landfield, Mariano del Rosario, and Larry Poons, he is practicing painting at Art Students League of New York, whose notable alumni include Jackson Pollock and Roy Lichtenstein. Md Tokon’s art can be found in museums and corporate and major private collections across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
