The New York Indian Film Festival opened its doors on May 4th, and it seemed like every star in Bollywood bought a ticket. Do Dooni Chaar kicked off the festival on opening night. The film, which stared Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor, is a comedy which revolves around a school teacher who wants to buy a new car. Do Dooni Chaar is the first live-action Hindi film distributed in India by Walt Disney.
The movie’s premier brought out Bollywood’s finest! Of course Rishi and Neetu walked the red carpet, but other attendees included Aparna Sen, Madhur Jaffrey, Aditya Bhattacharya, Meetu Chilana, Rehana Mirza, Siddhartha Mukherjee, Sarita Choudhury, Ami Sheth and Poorna Jagannathan.

After the screening, Rishi, Neetu and Habib Faisal (the film’s writer and director) sat down with NYIFF director Asseem Chhabra to discuss Do Dooni Chaar and their experiences while making the movie. After the panel ended, a fabulous gala was held at Jumeirah Essex House at Central Park South - very New York!
