In this movie Rituparno Ghosh will face the camera again and he is playing the role of a choreographer, who plans to stage the dance drama Chitrangada on the occasion of Rabindranath's 150th birth anniversary. Rituparno Ghosh is Rudra Chatterjee in this Bengali movie Chitrangada and his nick name is Khokon. Rudra Chatterjee was interested in art from his childhood but he studied Engineering as his father wanted him to study in technical stream. There was a conflict between the father and son, ultimately the son, Rudra became a choreographer. This is the point where the story of the new Bengali film Chitrangada coincides with Rabindranath Tagore's Chitrangada. In Tagore's Chitrangada, the King of Manipur wants to see his daughter Chitrangada as prince of Manipur since he doesn't have a son but Chitrangada wants to remain a girl.

Rituparno Ghosh is a Bengali film director. He has won 8 National Film Awards in India and several awards at international film festivals abroad. He is one of the most promising film makers of recent times. Ghosh was born and raised in Kolkata; attended South Point High School and graduated with Economics major from Jadavpur University. His father Sunil Ghosh was a painter and DOCUMENTARIES film maker. He grew up in an environment of film making. Started his career in advertisement films and shifted to feature film later. Ghosh's first film was 'Hirer Aangti', a film for children. His second film 'Unishe received National Award and brought him into the limelight. Since then Rituparno has made many movies in Bengali and Hindi and still on the making. Some of Ghosh’s most popular films include Dahan, Utsab, Chokher Bali, Asukh, Bariwali, Antarmahal and Raincoat to name a few.

Deferring her artistic dreams, Shripriya earned an MBA from Harvard and had a successful career in Silicon Valley, ultimately managing a $400 million business for one of the most prominent Internet companies. Unable to escape her inner muse, she left the corporate world to dedicate herself to filmmaking. She is currently pursuing an MFA in the Graduate Film Program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In That Moment, her first film at NYU, was an official selection at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, Olympia Film Festival and over a dozen other film festivals. The Way It's Played was an official selection at the New York Indian Film Festival, the New Jersey Film Festival and several others. Shripriya is currently working on a feature script set in India.
