The film "MLA" is about a village called Bhaglipur situated in Madhya Pradesh, where an Industrialist from the same village is serving his people by starting a Milk Factory and generating employment for them but on the other side, the elected MLA of that district is doing nothing for his people, but is observing the Industrialist's actions and tries to win his friendship for his own benefit but the Industrialist's outright dismissal for the same, makes him land in a pool of disputes and attacks, and how the MLA becomes his biggest enemy. The film focus on how acommon man suffers in between this whole conflict and then how he takes a stand to choose the right candidate for his felicity. "MLA" is about a battle between a Politician, an Industrialist, and a Common man.
My interest in shooting this film was to understand why when we talk about the subject "Politics" in our country, then the very first thought which comes to our mind is negative... or rather scams, scams and lot more scams. I believe in presenting the realistic picture of the society through my movie. I have purposefully kept every details of the movie raw and unseen to share the truth of today's scenario. The principal leads of MLA, are a combination of many such people, that have come together in thought to form characters for the film that are instantly identifiable, and extremely relatable.
The biggest thought while making this film was if a common man decide to change the fate of his country then he
can do that by electing and voting the right candidate for himself. Through MLA, my attempt is to show you the real face of Politicsāfrom a common man's eye and from a Industrialist's point of view. And to spread an awareness towards the importance of voting.
