Baiju Parthan, Mumbai multi-media artist and
Priyanka Mathew, Aicon Gallery Director and a South Asian specialist from Sotheby's

On view at the gallery will be a solo exhibition entitled 'Mill Junction' featuring recent paintings and photo work by Baiju Parthan. Baiju Parthan is hailed as the founder of the new media movement in India. He is a successful contemporary artists who works have been featured at Biennials and Triennials the world over. The artist will be present at the reception alongside, curators and art professionals from the industry to give you an insight into collecting contemporary South Asian art.

We will have a brief panel discussion at 7:00 pm with Mumbai multi-media artist Baiju Parthan, Aicon Gallery Director Priyanka Mathew, and a South Asian specialist from Sotheby's that will provide an overview of the Indian Contemporary Art World. Discussions will include: investing in art, some of the trends we have noticed in the art world, the auctions and their role in the art world, as well as the artist's perspective of the Art world.

Aicon Gallery New York is a premier gallery in Noho platforming South Asian modern and contemporary Indian art. The week of March 21st features the bi-annual South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art Auctions at Christies and Sotheby's in New York.
