Andrew Mount |
|
Andrew Mount is an artist and curator. His (installation) work deals with the transgressions of art through the production of surplus, or waste, and its position within larger economies. Mount is also interested in how art is produced external to the institutions and spaces of art. He co-founded a non-profit in NYC to provide new media art projects to under privileged urban youth, delivered by artists and ultimately producing a form of social sculpture. Mount has been artistic director and executive director of other non-profit art organizations, and is currently Director of Dowd gallery at SUNY Cortland. Mount is completing his doctoral work at Columbia. |
