Playwrights Resident : Annual Fellowship Program
Selection Process: The IAAC and Lark Play Development Theatre solicit nominations from artists in the Lark and IAAC communities.
Aroon Shivdsani, Executive Director IAAC and John Eisner, Producing Director Lark meet with prospective playwrights and determine which promising writer would benefit most from this fellowship opportunity.
The IAAC Resident Fellow's support includes:
- an artistic point person on Lark staff with whom to set artistic goals, support activities, and assess outcomes
- three roundtable sessions
- a public reading
- access to Lark and IAAC Alumni community programs after the fellowship is over
- a financial award ($1,000 this year).
The IAAC Resident Fellowship will be presented annually. This year the Fellowship Award will be presented just before the final Playwrights' Week party, which is sponsored by IAAC.
Anuvab Pal (2007-08 Fellow) and Alaudin Ullah (2008-09 Fellow) will each share 10 minute fragments of work they created during their Fellowships. They will join Aroon to present the award to the 2009-10 Fellow at the event.
