She’s worked at the trend-setting Café Spice and for Tommy Tang at the Mondrian hotel; she has also appeared on the Food Channel’s “Good Food Live Show.” Now, Anjum Anand, author of INDIAN EVERY DAY: LIGHT, HEALTHY INDIAN FOOD will be in New York (from London) the week of April 19th to discuss her enlivened approach to Indian cuisine, fusing all the appeal of savory traditional ingredients with healthy contemporary recipes.

Anjum’s given the Indian food we love a bright new taste – fresher, healthier, simpler. Using the traditional ingredients and the fragrant spices, she turns them into light, balanced dishes that sing with the home-style flavors she adores. With everyone thinking low-carb, with spring and summer weather (and lighter clothing) just around the corner, the emphasis is on everything healthy .

The Indo-American Arts Council supports all the artistic disciplines in classical, fusion, folk and innovative forms influenced by the arts of India. We work cooperatively with colleagues around the United States to broaden our collective audiences and to create a network for shared information, resources and funding. Our focus is to work with artists and art organisations in North America as well as to facilitate artists from India to exhibit, perform and produce their work here. The IAAC is a registered not-for-profit arts organization (501c3).
