Ms. Ramya Ramnarayan is a noted Bharathanatyam performer, choreographer and educator, who blends tradition with innovation. Bharatanatyam is a traditional dance form that originated in the temples of Southern India. Ramya runs a dance company and school called Nrithyanjali in New Jersey. She holds a visiting faculty appointment in the Dance Department at Mason Gross School of Arts, and Rutgers University. Ramya is the recipient of "Kalaimamani" (a prestigeous Tamil Nadu State Award) and "Nadanamamani" titles, from India. The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation awarded her the prestigious Artist Fellowship Award for Choreography. Ramya has been appointed by the Governor of New Jersey as the Board of Trustees for the Asian American Study Foundation. www.nrithyanjali.org
