PERFORMANCE

Featuring over 15 distinguished artists from India & at least 20 artists from the Diaspora. Range of work includes Classical, neo classical, folk and martial art based Dance Theater, contemporary & modern dance, spoken word & media raps. Curated performances explore gender construction, their roles and transgressions, image principles, alternate sexuality, and feminine divinity. Performances feature by celebrated danceuse and activist Mallika Sarabhai, renowned Modern dancer, Padma Shri Astad Deboo, dynamic choreographer and Kathak dancer Aditi Mangaldas, the first all-male Odissi temple dance troupe Rudrakshya, Aparna Sindhoor whose dance theater work incorporates folk and martial art, Dakshina whose work is a syncratic blend of Bharat Natyam and Modern dance, diasporic artists Rajika Puri, Sudarshan Belsare, contemporary Kathak group Parul Shah and Company, Nayikas ft. Sunonda Samaddar, Pavithra Vasudevan, Shrooti Singh & guest artists Prachi Dalal, Sharmili Khan, and Tillotama Shomel. and spoken word artists Sarah Hussain and Shailja Patel. Also featured is a concert by India’s top Sufi singer Zila Khan and Pakistan’s esteemed Fareed Ayaz Qawwal Ensemble.
