Autograph Bengali movie to be screened at MIAAC 2010

Autograph Srijit Mukherjee’s latest Bengali release “Autograph”, is to be screened at the 10th Annual Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival, which will start from 10-14 November 2010. The screening of the film will take place in SVA Silas Theatre at 6 pm on 11th Nov. The film is a tribute to the renowned filmmaker Satyajit Rai’s film “Nayak-The Hero” starring Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore by Srijit Mukherjee.

With the film “Autograph” which was released on 14th October, Srijit Mukherjee makes his debut as a writer cum director. Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta of Shree Venkatesh Films has produced the film.The film features the talented actor Prasenjit Chatterjee popularly known as ‘Bumba Da” and the hot and sexy Nandana Sen along with Indraneel Sengupta in the lead roles. Rudra Prasad Sengupta and Piyush Ganguly play pivotal roles in the film.

The story of “Autograph” revolves around 3 characters an aspirant director, a young actress and a superstar. Cast together in a single stage they find their lives taking a new turn. In other words it depicts the central character Arun Chatterjee’s emotional isolation and professional anxiety. With the film one can clearly see the insightful bytes into filmmaking and film-acting and tries to connect arthouse with mainstream cinema.

Srijit’s film “Autographed”, have received much acclamation for its cinematography and music. Shoumik Haldar’s techniques and Debojit Mishra’s music has added the highpoint of the movie. Ever song of the film is heart touching and intense which has lyrics by Srijato, Anupam Roy and Srijit Mukherjee. The song “Aamake amar moton thakte deo” has already become the Kolkatt’s anthem.

The review site Calcutta Tube.com posted ““A must watch film that would touch your heart and soul.” As a directorial debut with the film “Autograph” Srijit has successfully proved his brilliance of work.
