The festival opens with a screening of
Noise (
Shor) the feature film version of the winner of MIAAC 2008’s Best Short Film Award— a gritty, funny composite portrait of Mumbai from the Detroit and Mumbai based director-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Thursday catch Nandana Sen in
Autograph, a film inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s
Wild Strawberries and Satyajit Ray’s
Nayak. Friday we come out for
Ashes Ajay Naidu's directorial debut. Naidu, the actor we know and love from his roles in
Suburbia,
Office Space (Samir Nagheenanajar) and "Bored to Death" presents a story of two brothers living in the inner city, one suffering from a manic depressive schizoid disorder, the other with his sights on becoming a wealthy drug dealer. Shot in New York, and co-starring Heather Burns and Piper Perabo, this film brings us a true New York story.
