The center-piece of The Tenth Annual Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival, is the debut film from Sanjoy Nag, one of the few openly gay directors in India. Memories tells the tale of a grief-stricken mother (played by acclaimed Hindi film actress Deepti Naval) who is called upon to collect the belongings of her son, who has been killed in an accident. But in picking up the pieces of her son’s life -- from his home, his office and his friends -- she discovers a son, and a life, that she never knew existed.
