| Shorr was the opening night film   last week at the largest South Asian festival in the U.S. and received a   standing ovation from the audience and media. Balaji Motion Pictures-Alt Entertainment’s Shorr was   awarded the Best Director Award at the recently concluded Tenth Annual   Indo-American Arts Council (IAAC) Film Festival in New York. The   announcement was made on the closing night of the festival on Sunday,   14th November, 2010.  Shorr   was the opening night film last week at the largest South Asian   festival in the U.S. and received a standing ovation from the audience   and media.  The   premiere was attended by Ekta Kapoor, director-duo Raj Nidimoru and   Krishna DK (Flavours, 99), actors Tusshar Kapoor, Sendhil Ramamurthy (of   the hit TV series Heroes and Covert Affairs fame)and Balaji Motion   Pictures CEO Tanuj Garg. Also in attendance were stalwarts Mira Nair,   Nandana Sen, Padma Lakshmi, Sarita Choudhury, Deepti Naval, Tannishtha   Chatterjee, and Rahul Bose, among others.  “The   award is testimony of our belief in Shorr. I am delighted that with   Love, Sex Aur Dhokha and Shorr, Alt Entertainment is swiftly   establishing itself as a robust brand, which backs high quality   commercial content with alternate sensibilities,” remarked Ekta Kapoor.  The   feature film, based on Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s winner of MIAAC   2008's Best Short Film Award, is a gritty, funny composite portrait of   Mumbai, revolving around the lives of three individuals and their   dilemmas. Shorr is expected to release in March-April 2011.  |
