First Trailer: Ekta Kapoor’s dark comedy 'Shor In the City'
April 1,2011

MIAAC
After producing series of hit TV shows, Ekta Kapoor has taken up film production seriously. The TV czarina after giving films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, is ready with her dark comedy Shor in the City starring Tusshar Kapoor, Heroes sensation Sendhil Ramamurthy, former Miss Great Britain Preeti Desai and Nikhil Dwivedi.

The trailer has some funny sequences and dialogues too. Mumbai also gets to play a character in the film. This gritty, grounded film revolves around three loosely interconnected stories set in the midst of the noise and grime of Mumbai during the Ganpati festival. Inspired from various daily newspaper stories, it tells the tale of an expatriate who returns home to an unwelcoming city, a bootlegger of bestsellers and his buddies that find a bag of explosives and a young cricketer must find the money to pay up to get into a cricket team.

Tusshar says, “Not only is Mumbai integral to the narrative of the film, it plays an important character in itself.” The movie also has a steamy scene between Sendhil Ramamurthy and Preeti Desai. The much-awaited comedy has received standing ovations at various international film festivals and its director-duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK won the Best Director award at the Indo-American Arts Council (Miaac) Film Festival in New York.
