Marina Budhos

Marina BudhosMarina Budhos is an author of award-winning fiction and nonfiction who frequently writes about the collision of cultures.

She has published two novels, The Professor of Light (Putnam, 1999), House of Waiting (Global City Press, 1995) and a nonfiction book, Remix: Conversations with Immigrant Teenagers (Henry Holt, 1999). Her short stories, articles, essays, and book reviews have appeared in publications such as The Kenyon Review, The Nation, Ms., Travel & Leisure, Time Out, Los Angeles Times, and elsewhere. She has received an emma (Exceptional Merit Media Award) and a Rona Jaffe Award for Women Writers.

Ms. Budhos has been a Fulbright Scholar to India, has given talks throughout the country and abroad, and has taught at several universities and colleges. She has also served as an editor and consultant to a variety of projects. She is an assistant professor of English at William Paterson University.

In 2006, she will publish her first young adult novel, Ask Me No Questions (Simon & Schuster) and a non-fiction book, Bittersweet: The World That Sugar Created (with Marc Aronson, Clarion Books)
