Internationally acclaimed Mallika Sarabhai choreographs and performs along with members of Darpana performance group from Ahmedabad, India. They present a varied evening, a bouquet of styles and ideas that form the panorama of contemporary dance in India. The pieces range from the abstract to the funny, from those exploring fusion in music and form, to those dealing with issues like rape, violence, social hypocrisy and human values. The music is varied and ranges from that of known music composers like L. Subramanian and Indian Ocean to the dancers themselves creating a music-scape on stage. Spectacular dance keeps the audience tapping.

The Indo American Arts Council (IAAC) is a secular, not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting and building an awareness of all artistic disciplines in classical, fusion, folk and innovative forms influenced by the arts of India. We work cooperatively with colleagues both in the United States and in India, to showcase and facilitate the exhibition, performance and production of their work in the US, to broaden our collective audiences, and to create a network for shared information and resources.

Recent Praise for Ms. Mallika Sarabhai includes:

'from Peter Brooks to Sadler's Wells..Sarabhai is an international sensation"

"…Beautiful, elegant, passionate Mallika is one of the greatest Indian classical dancers.. She adds new dimensions to her art…her talent is limitless.."
