Mark your calendar for New York’s Indian film festival that brought
you premieres of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, THE NAMESAKE, and
WATER…. The MIACC 2009 Film Festival features five days of
exciting screenings of Indian independent and diaspora films, red
carpet gala events, post-screening discussions, industry panels,
nightly networking parties, special events, awards ceremony,
celebrities, media and industry attendance.

UK Feature at the 2008 Raindance Film Festival, Smita Bhide’s
hothouse brew of urban dreams unveils a rarely seen snapshot of
the busy streets and cramped suburban homes in Southall. Abhin
Galeya stars as a conflicted British-Asian everyman, beset by venal
in laws and overbearing friends, who finds himself heading towards
a potentially disastrous romance with the English nurse who tends
to his cantankerous - but temptingly wealthy - bedridden Auntie
Kamla.
