About ACAW 2009
Despite discouraging economic climates, 35 New York City venues join forces to uphold ACAW's commitment to public education with provocative new exhibitions, featuring over 200 emerging and established artists. This year, ACAW's zealous efforts in creating a platform for public interaction with artists are highlighted by "Open Portfolios" program. A selection of 27 leading and emerging artists will present their works and concepts at participating venues in variety of formats as well as on the ACAW website.

Offering an incredibly diverse and broad array of programs, ACAW 2009 unfolds each night with opening receptions, performances, exhibition-viewings, screenings, artists' conversations and artists led walkthroughs at leading galleries and museums across New York City. Furthermore, ACAW 2009 succeeds in hailing artists from every region of Asia including: China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine and for the first time, Cambodia and Tibet.
