Aicon Gallery New York is delighted to once again be working in collaboration with the Indo-American Arts Council (IAAC) for its Fall Fine Art Benefit Auction. For this Fall Auction, Aicon Gallery and the IAAC will be placing works by M. F. Husain, Akbar Padamsee, B. Prabha, Shyamal Dutta Ray, Baiju Parthan, Akhilesh, and many others under the hammer. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go directly to the IAAC to benefit their relentless efforts to promote awareness of Indian and cross-cultural art in all forms in North America.

For this collaboration, we have put together a distinguished selection of Modern and Contemporary Indian artworks in a variety of media. Works by modern masters from India's Progressive Artist's Group as well as some of the stars of the Indian contemporary art scene will comprise a collection valued in today's market at over $100,000. However, to bolster support and excitement for the Fall sale, we will be offering these works without a reserve, so bidders may be able to take home works by M. F. Husain, Akbar Padamsee, B. Prabha, Baiju Parthan and other renowned artists for well under the market value.

Baiju Parthan, Engineered Fruit, 2001, Pigment ink on aluminum panel, 23.5 x 23.5 in.
With many of these artists selling masterworks at public auctions for prices in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, the evening promises a chance for burgeoning collectors to acquire important works while supporting the IAAC as the irreplaceable cross-cultural institution for the arts it has come to be. In this sense, guest's attendance and support may also be one of the best investments in the arts to be made, both personally and philanthropically. We thank you for taking the time to view the artworks on display, and look forward to hosting you for an exciting and memorable summer evening of art, culture, cocktails and charitable support.
