Ms. Dhawan will share with the audience the process of writing and seeing that writing come to life, and she will discuss the nuances of the film that address the complexities of Indian family life. Monsoon Wedding, directed by Mira Nair, and written by Sabrina Dhawan, took the international film scene by storm, affecting audiences around the world with its joyous tale of a family coming together for a wedding. The film's universal themes of love and marriage are delivered within a distinctively Indian framework, providing access to contemporary Indian family life.
